Hardcore Never Dies Project
Why I Chose This Project
I chose this project as I have a key interest within hardcore music , and felt I could fully remake the soundtrack with added elements of hardcore composition interrogated. This clip is from the trailer of "Hardcore Never Dies", a movie that showcases Dutch culture and the underground scene of hardcore music.
Task Given
I Was tasked with re-creating a soundtrack of a clip that was at least 3 minutes in length without using nay of the original audio ( Dialogue stems were allowed due to language barrier) This would be created from sound library's and owned sample packs.

Tempo Automation
At the start of the trailer the project starts at 155 BPM and then shifts up to 185 bpm. This automation chain helps the scene transition from the slow pace at the start of the trailer when the character is in around his family compared to when he is out with his friend everything feels much quicker.
Kick & Lead Automation
As the character enters the rave , it cuts to a scene of him in the toilet where music an be heard in the distant background , and as he walks in to the main hall the music gets louder and more spacious , this was achieved by applying a gradual automation to both the kick and lead and matches up well with the scene.
Kick & Lead FX
As the character walks from the toilet into the room , the spacious effect sounds more prominent as if it was in a live sound setting , this was achieved by applying Ableton's BM7 Music Room plug in to both the kick and lead to help the music sound more spacious. To achieve this I turned the width on the kick and lead to 100% and adjusted the dry/wet until I felt happy with the music playing in the background.

Tension Building
Towards the end of the trailer I had to create a lot of tension to correspond with the trailer , I used a samples from SoundQ Sound bank along with my own fx samples from a hardcore production pack.
